At that time, young men and women preferred unconventional looks for going out to parties, meetings and other events. For the first time in the thirties, women began to actively declare themselves. They talked about their self-sufficiency and indispensability for society. It was then that a woman was able to gain the right to her own judgment, action, which played a key role in the emergence of a new branch of fashion. More and more people wanted to forget about suffering, obstacles, start having fun, dancing and listening to cheerful melodies. All this contributed to the fashion of that time. Bow ties were often worn. The jacket had a satin collar, emphasizing the elegance of the man's style. Every man must know how to tie such a tie to correctly show the contrasting seam. They were often black or white.
A man's image may include a waistcoat and a smart turtleneck shirt. The shirt goes well with a tuxedo. A cane can be used as an accessory. Shoes were very important: many people paid attention to what a person was wearing. Therefore, men's shoes were always perfectly clean, polished, and varnished. Loafers and oxfords were in fashion. Colors were chosen to match the tone of the suit or, conversely, to contrast. Black was a universal color; shoes of this color could be worn with almost any suit.
Men were not inferior to ladies in any way, even in their haircuts. At that time, everyone loved the short men's haircut. The hair on the top of the head was longer than on the sides and back. Dresses in delicate tones and mini length are perfect. It is worth remembering that they should not be below the knee. Such outfits either have a low waist on the hips, or none at all. The sleeves are chosen short, or do without them at all. This is due to the fact that all sorts of accessories were added to the dress, for example, long gloves to the elbows or higher. Such dresses were decorated with fringe, bead embroidery, and feather decorations.
To complement the silhouette, a full skirt could be used. In cool weather, a cape made of fur or other material was thrown over the shoulders.
The design of women's shoes was more similar to men's. Girls chose shoes with pointed toes, and you could often see women in oxfords. In order to somehow add femininity to the men's classics, silk ribbons were used instead of classic laces.
After women began to defend their rights and freedom of self-expression, they gradually began to get rid of long hair and switch to short haircuts. The most popular were the "a la garcon" hairstyles. Such a haircut, in addition to head jewelry, gives a spectacular, sexual look to a woman's figure. The correct styling emphasizes all the charms of the shoulders, neck, and face of a girl. At that time, quite bold makeup was in fashion. Eyebrows were maximally highlighted and all this was combined with dark pink or scarlet lipstick. Thus, more and more different details began to appear. Clothes in the Great Gatsby style prescribed wearing a removable fur collar and boas.
Various shawls and scarves gained popularity. Sometimes they overshadowed the entire outfit. The length of the shawl could reach one and a half meters. Bows, ribbons, decorative flowers made of natural and artificial fabrics were often used in the image. The women's bag played more of a decorative role than a functional item.
