The birth of a baby is one of the most important and joyful events in the family. In addition to a crib, a bath and clothes, the little family member will need a comfortable and beautiful envelope. It will be decorated with a bow for discharge from the maternity hospital, made with your own hands. The decorative element will emphasize the solemnity of the moment, and the process of its manufacture will please the expectant mother or grandmother.

Discharge from the maternity hospital is an exciting moment. Everything should be decorated festively and beautifully. In order for the event to go perfectly and become a memorable occasion, it is necessary to think through a lot of little things. The bow on the envelope is an important element. It is made from various materials. The most commonly used are:

To create a bow for discharge with your own hands, you will need the following tools:
- scissors;
- needles;
- pins;
- sewing machine;
- base material;
- decor - rhinestones and beads.

A bow for discharge should not only decorate the envelope, but also correspond to the baby's gender. For boys, choose blue, green colors, preferably rich shades. For girls - pink, red, yellow, pastel colors. Often there is a combination with white ribbons or lace of a contrasting color.

In the form of a butterfly for a boy
A bow shaped like a butterfly for a boy's discharge can be made in light blue, blue, green or turquoise. To make it, you will need:
- satin ribbons 5 x 30 cm of one color and polka dot 3 x 25 cm;
- thread and needle;
- scissors.
It is very easy to make an original bow for a boy to be discharged from the hospital. All materials are prepared in advance. The edges of the ribbons are singe so that they do not crumble in the future. To make a butterfly, the edges of a large ribbon are folded to the center, secured with a pin, the same must be repeated with a polka dot cut. Then the materials are placed one on top of the other, secured in the center with a thread, and pulled together. Take a small piece, fold it in half, wrap the central part of the butterfly, and secure with threads.
Soft for a girl
Soft products look original and beautiful. They look gentle and cute. A bow for a girl to be discharged from the hospital with your own hands is made from the following materials:
- cotton fabric pink 90 x 15 cm and 15 x 50 cm;
- rubber bands;
- holofiber;
- needle and thread;
- scissors.
To make the newborn's bow for discharge light and airy, you need to add a little filler. Holofiber, synthetic padding, and synthetic fluff will do.
To create a soft bow, sew a 90 x 15 cm strip for the belt, turn it inside out, and iron it. Then sew the piece with an indent from the edge so that the central part is slightly wider than the elastic, which is inserted with a pin. Connect both edges together.
On a strip of fabric 15 x 50 cm on the larger side we mark the middle, attach the edges to it. Sew at the top and bottom. Turn inside out, put the filler, sew up the middle. From another material we cut a flap 10 x 15 cm, fold in half, connect, turn inside out. Iron, and then fix in the center of the volumetric rectangle, pull together, sew. The core can be made of satin ribbon.
Kanzashi
A unique beautiful bow for an envelope can be made using the kanzashi technique. To create it, you will need satin ribbons. The tools you will need are a glue gun and tweezers (they will help you carefully glue the petals). Beads and rhinestones will complement the composition. The edges of rapeseed and satin ribbons are singe to prevent fraying. For one bow you will need:
- orange, green, gold ribbons;
- green, yellow beads;
- black felt;
- decorative ladybug.
The ribbons are cut into pieces using scissors. The edges must be singed, otherwise they will look untidy. When creating a bow using the kanzashi technique, the following algorithm is followed:
- Take a green ribbon 5 cm wide, cut into 4 strips of 10 cm each. Fold in half, press the corners to the center.
- The 2.5 cm rapeseed tape is cut into three parts of 18 cm each. Fold in half, marking the middle. The ends are attached to this strip. Fold two tapes crosswise, and place the third across. This bow is glued to the one made earlier. Everything is wound with a thin green tape.
- Take a thin ribbon, tie knots at the bottom, string beads on and sew or glue the ribbon to the bottom of the bow.
- Orange and gold ribbons are cut into squares, folded into a triangle, then folded again and the ends glued together.
- Cut a strip out of black felt, cut it into a fringe, twist it into a rope and glue it to the green circle, and “plant” a ladybug on top. Glue the whole structure onto a bow.
On an elastic band
A simple, beautiful bow for a newborn can be made from two strips of fabric and an elastic band. Everything can be sewn by hand, without resorting to a sewing machine. Detailed master class:
- Prepare three strips of one material: 90 x 14 cm, 30 x 12 cm and 10 x 15 cm.
- From another fabric, cut out a rectangle measuring 50 x 15 cm. Cut off 58 cm of elastic.
- The 90 x 14 cm piece is sewn together from the inside along the long sides, turned inside out, and ironed. The seam should remain in the middle.
- Sew on both sides so that the width of the inner part is a couple of millimeters larger than the elastic. Then pull it through with a pin. Sew the elastic itself on both edges.
- The belt is put aside and they start making the bow. Take a strip of 50 x 15 cm. Mark the center and fold the edges toward it. Secure with thread at the bottom and top, turn inside out, and iron.
- Place the smaller rectangle on the larger one and sew it in the center. Gather the middle evenly on the thread, pull it together, and connect it in the center.
- The 10 x 15 cm strip is sewn together and ironed. All the parts are connected together.
A bow on an elastic band is fixed around the envelope. It looks very cute, especially if the envelope itself is made of the same material.
Heart of satin roses
A heart-shaped decoration made of satin roses looks incredibly cute. To create such a bow for a girl's discharge from the hospital, you will need satin ribbons, organza, and sewing supplies. The buds themselves are easy to assemble. The roses are made as follows:
- Cut off a piece of satin ribbon, singe the edges. Hold the ribbon from the inside, take the edge and bend it 30 degrees, then fix it with a pin again to make an accordion.
- Sew the folds with a needle and thread. Bend the ribbon towards you, then upwards, and sew along the edge. Continue bending and sewing. The more folds, the fluffier the rose will be.
- Carefully pull the thread slowly, gathering the ribbon into a rose. Twist the middle and fix it with glue at the base of the petals.
The number of roses depends on the size of the heart. The base is cut out of thick felt and satin flowers are attached to it. Lace flounces are sewn along the edge. The composition is decorated with rhinestones, beads, petals made of green silk and felt.
No sewing
Without using needles and threads, you can make several types of bows. For this, you will need satin ribbons of different colors. The following options are popular: classic, Dior, two-color and flower bow.
To create a classic element, the ribbon is folded into an "M" shape, and the top rings are crossed. This will create another fabric circle at the bottom. One of the top rings is threaded through the third and tightened evenly.
Making a Dior-style bow begins with cutting three pieces of different lengths from one ribbon. Each is glued into a ring, then placed one on top of the other. Next, cut off a small piece of ribbon, glue it into a ring, and fasten all the above elements in the center with it.
To make a two-color bow, you will need two satin strips of different widths and contrasting colors. Make a loop from the larger one and glue it together. Place the narrow one on top of the wide one, and glue the ends together. Tie a knot at the junction of both bows.
The flower bow is considered the simplest model, made without the use of thread and needle. To create it, fold a long ribbon like an accordion so that each top layer is smaller than the previous one. Tie and straighten the petals in different directions. The decorative element is ready.
Decor
You can decorate a bow for discharge from the maternity hospital in different ways. For girls, rhinestones, crystals, large beads with glitter, mother-of-pearl are most often used. A spectacular brooch, which can be easily removed if necessary, looks great on a simple, single-color bow.
In any products for children, it is preferable to use hypoallergenic material, this also applies to fabric decorations.
Bows for boys are decorated with white braid and lace, as well as felt figures of cars, animals, toys. The presence of decor in the form of rhinestones or brooches is not welcome. Envelopes for future men always look somewhat more restrained than products for girls.
