Ideal jeans hide flaws, emphasizing the advantages of the figure. It happens that a person has been looking for a suitable pair for a long time, found it and it fits him like a glove. Naturally, he will buy this thing. Trying it on takes 5-10 minutes. When the buyer wears it during the day, at the end of it he can expect an unpleasant surprise - blue legs or stained underwear. The reason is that jeans are stained, what to do in such a situation? The problem is not new and there are a number of actions that will help to avoid such embarrassments in the future.
Main reasons
Many people mistakenly believe that fading of denim items indicates their low quality. In fact, it is the other way around. Quality jeans from famous manufacturers are largely made of cotton and are dyed with natural dyes. The pigments of these dyes are not completely absorbed by the fibers. The excess comes out during the first wash and wear. This explains why light and pale blue jeans do not leave marks on the body and clothes. They simply have little pigment.
It may seem strange why cheap products are not subject to this? The reason is that when they are dyed, synthetic paints are used, which are more durable.
Stages of problem solving
If jeans get discolored while being worn, their owner will have to do some manipulations with the new item.
- washing - includes pre-soaking of trousers;
- rinsing - performed several times with a special solution;
- Drying - Denim items need to be laid completely upright when drying.
Sometimes once is not enough, don't despair: go through all the stages again.
Washing
At the beginning of washing, the product must be soaked, then excess paint will start to come out. You cannot use bleaching powder. It is allowed to use regular laundry soap, it is grated and added to water.
For a faster result, add 1-2 spoons of regular salt to the water. Before soaking, the new item should be buttoned up and turned inside out. The jeans should be completely covered with warm water. Do not soak denim items in too hot water. It is not recommended to leave the jeans for more than half an hour: overexposure in the salt solution can damage the properties of the fabric.
The first few times jeans are washed separately from other items.
Washing should be done by hand or with a soft-bristled brush. Hard bristles will damage the fabric and pigment. Opponents of manual processes can wash dyed jeans in a machine. Automatic washing has several nuances.
- no need to pre-soak the item;
- the mode should be selected based on the capabilities of the machine, the most suitable are: "Delicate wash", "Hand wash". Some models have a mode specifically for denim clothing;
- the powder should exclude the presence of chlorine and bleach, gentle products are suitable: gels, capsules, liquid powders. A budget option is to use vinegar. A few tablespoons are added to the powder compartment, no other detergents should be used;
- temperature not higher than 40 degrees;
- Drying the product in a drum is allowed if it is possible to turn off the spin function. Rough spinning at this stage will damage the structure of the fabric and paint.

Rinsing
After the first stage of washing comes the obligatory stage of rinsing. This should be done at least twice, if necessary the number of repetitions increases:
- jeans should be placed on the bottom of an empty bathtub, if possible without creases or folds;
- a shower is used for these purposes. A strong stream of warm water is directed at the product from each side. It is necessary to turn it over and rinse until the water becomes significantly lighter;
- the excess paint is gone, but the color needs to be fixed. Housewives know what to do when dyeing jeans to get a lasting color. For a long time, they have been using regular vinegar for these purposes. The purchased new thing must be placed in a basin with a solution of cold water and acetic acid. It is enough to hold for 5 minutes, after which the trousers are taken out and carefully wrung out, without twisting the thing.

Drying
Many people neglect this point, considering it insignificant, and instead they get a spoiled product with an abundance of stains. After rinsing, the trousers are taken out of the water, easily wrung out and hung upright. You can't hang jeans over a rope: creases may appear at the fold, and the water and paint will flow unevenly and dry in places. The owner will receive trousers with blue stains and spots.
Proper drying involves hanging the turned-out garment by the belt on clothespins. The object of the process can be shaken periodically. Since some pigment still remains and will come out until it dries completely, it is recommended to place a container under the hanging trousers. This will save the bathroom from unnecessary cleaning.
How to check the result
All these manipulations will help when jeans are heavily stained and the question of what to do about it becomes more relevant than ever. But this procedure does not always help the first time, so it is necessary to check the result in advance.
When the item is dry, you will need to wet any small area of it again. Rub this area vigorously with a white cloth. If the material remains unstained, the trousers can be safely worn. Otherwise, the entire process will have to be repeated.
The same method of checking is used when the buyer is just trying on the product in the store. A damp light-colored handkerchief or napkin will come in handy; in the fitting room, you need to rub the fabric of the product with them. Jeans with excess paint will stain the material. And when the dye gets dirty, but the model is still very much liked, you will just need to repeat the process described above.
Of course, it is worth remembering that any item made of denim can also fade and get dirty. All stages of removing excess paint from the fabric are absolutely identical for any denim product.
