- Knit 2 cm with a 1 to 1 elastic band, that is, alternate one purl and one front.
- We add 13 sts evenly. This means that after every 7 sts we make 1 yarn over. We get 122 sts.
- Knit 8 cm in stocking stitch. On the front side, knit all the front stitches, on the back side, the back stitches.
- Continue the fabric with a 3 to 1 elastic band. Alternate 3 front loops and 1 back loop. Knit the back rows, repeating the pattern. Thus, knit 2 cm.
- We change the thread to brown, continue working with an elastic band for another 1.5 cm. Then we knit with a black thread 1 cm, then again with brown 1.5 cm. We get two stripes.
- Change the thread to black and knit with stocking stitch for 5 cm.
- We begin to decrease the loops. To do this, we divide them on the knitting needle as follows: 10, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 10. We mark with a contrasting thread. To decrease, we knit 2 loops together at the beginning and end of each group using the front technique. We do this in rows 1, 5, 9, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 after marking. We do not decrease the beginning and end of knitting.
- We collect the remaining loops on the knitting needle onto a thread and tie them.
- Sew the edges of the hat.
- Then fold the inner layer up to the beginning of the 3 to 1 elastic band.
